New Zealand-headquartered AI-based insights platform Yabble has hired long-time industry exec Doug Guion for its newly created role of Chief Growth Officer. He is based in the US.

Doug GuionFounded in 2013 by former Kantar exec Kathryn Topp and branding specialist Rachel O'Shea, Yabble uses machine learning and natural language processing to help brands connect with more than 62 million consumers globally, and collect data in real time. Users can build their own surveys and manage their own customer research communities, and consumers can share ideas, feedback and experiences about the products they use. At the end of last year, the firm launched an AI-powered tool called Summarize, to generate summaries of insights from long-form data at 'unprecedented speed'.

Most recently, he was COO at predictive brand tech platform BERA Brand Management, which is powered by a continuous stream of customer and financial data. Prior to this, he worked for MetrixLab as SVP, Strategy and Commercial Operations; was President of Acturus (previously known as The Pert Group, and acquired by MetrixLab in 2017); and he spent a decade at Greenfield Online, latterly as VP, North American Operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Topp said: 'Having worked with Open AI and GPT models for almost three years, we know that Yabble's proprietary technology and fearless focus on product innovation make us one of the most exciting companies in our industry. We're delighted to have someone of Doug's calibre, expertise and energy to take the business forward on our next stage of growth.'
