Broadband Genie Price Comparison Site Names First CEO

UK-based broadband price comparison site Broadband Genie, has appointed long-time TalkTalk exec Eliza Vlachou as its first Chief Executive Officer.

Broadband Genie, which is part of digital marketing and publishing company Genie Ventures, provides a service through which to compare home broadband and bundled TV and phone packages. This service is designed to help consumers find and switch to the 'ideal' broadband service, with comparison tables and site features through which to evaluate the latest offers and save money. In addition, the firm's editorial team publishes original features, guides, industry insight, and research covering all aspects of home, business, and mobile broadband.

Vlachou (pictured) joins after two years at fintech firm Kuva, where she served as Marketing Director. Prior to this, she spent more than nine years at TalkTalk; latterly as Head of Digital Sales & Marketing; leading the eCommerce strategy of talktalk.co.uk, with full commercial and sales accountability. Earlier, she held senior roles in Greece at Internet and pay-TV business Forthnet Group (now Nova), including Value Added Services Manager, conducting market analysis, MR, competition analysis, and plan execution for creating and launching online services.

In her new role, Vlachou will lead the team from its headquarters in Cambridge.
