GMI Launches NET-MR 2.0

September 20 2001

Global Market Insite (GMI) has just launched NET-MR 2.0, a new version of its end-to-end, Web-based platform for market research management.

Built on the same patent-pending technology that powers Net-MR 1.5, the new version adds modules which allow for mix-mode data collection, and further streamlining of market research processes via advanced project and client management tools. All licensees of Net-MR 1.5 will be able to upgrade to Net-MR 2.0 at no additional cost.

In announcing the launch of Net-MR 2.0, GMI's CEO and Founder, Robert Monster, commented, "Net-MR is rapidly emerging as the new industry standard for market research software. The end-to-end solution running entirely over the Internet is still one-of-a-kind, and the tight integration with panel services makes it powerful. Developed with lead users in the market research industry, the software is designed to give market researchers a substantial increase in productivity, and to give established market research firms the industry-leading tools to fully leverage their industry knowledge, geographic presence, and client relationships."

Key new features introduced with Net-MR 2.0 include:

  • Enhanced authoring tool: Net-MR 2.0 adds a Java-based authoring tool capable of rapid authoring in the browser. The new release has added 6 new question types as well as extensive new functions for logic handling as well as CRM/ERP integration via open APIs.
  • Net-Panel: The Net-Panel toolkit is a web-based solution for panel administration, panellist profile management, panel sampling, activity reporting, respondent portal management and customer service.
  • Client Portal: Net-MR 2.0 delivers a further enhancement to the data delivery platform first introduced with Net-MR 1.5. The new client portal adds new functionality for enabling licensees to provide a client relationship portal.
  • Net-CAPI: Net-MR's Net-CAPI module is now integrated into the suite. Users can generate the CAPI interviewing packages and distribute them license-free to an unlimited number of facilities where offline data collection is needed (e.g. mall facilities).
  • Net-CATI: The Net-CATI tool has been upgraded to include new functionality based on field trials among beta testing groups for Net-CATI. The upgraded operator panel is entirely written in Java and can run entirely offline from the central server when needed.
  • Report Publisher: This newly introduced tool allows the user to assemble reports from any combination of text, tables, charts, imported content or variables. The report can then be automatically generated as PDF or HTML.
  • Contact Management: Net-MR 2.0 adds sophisticated functionality for account management. Research managers can conveniently track communication history, manage sales pipelines, and distribute customised newsletters to clients and prospects.
  • Data Processing: Net-MR 2.0 adds a Data Management toolkit suitable for online management of data sets for ad hoc editing of raw data, removal of cases, and other maintenance tasks for working with raw data.
  • Analysis and Data Mining: Net-MR 2.0 adds API support for Oracle and SQL Server 2000, including the option of de-coupling analysis data from data collection. The framework for OLAP and Data Mining are also introduced, including support for time-series reporting.
