Employment Service Research

October 16 2001

UK agency, FDS International has been awarded a research contract to measure customer service and satisfaction among employers who use the Employment Service, part of the Government's Department for Work and Pensions. The contract runs for three years with an option to extend for a further two years.

Telephone surveys will be conducted each quarter among some 1,800 employers, as well as a monthly survey from November of 200 users of the new Jobcentre Plus Pathfinder sites. Numbers will increase substantially after April 2002, the new financial year, and as more Jobcentre Plus sites are opened.

"The Employment Service is totally committed to providing the best service for employers throughout the recruitment process," says Karen Mitchell, customer service policy manager. "Owning one of the largest recruitment websites in Europe www.employmentservice.gov.uk, which holds over 500,000 jobs, and having national and international vacancy circulation, ensures the Employment Service gives all vacancies maximum exposure. Listening to customers is key to strengthening services in the right places. The results from these regular surveys of employer customers help to pinpoint and address any service areas needing improvement."
