Aegis Research Acquires Japanese Agency

December 4 2001

Aegis Research has significantly expanded its global network of market research companies through the acquisition of a 100% stake in Research Fact, a Tokyo-based market research company. This move represents a significant advance for Asia Market Intelligence (AMI) in its drive to complete its regional network. AMI is a key part of the Aegis Research Group.

Research Fact is one of the fastest growing medium size research companies in Japan, with 30 employees and an annual turnover in excess of Yen 700 million. The company was established in 1993 by founder Mitsuyo Uchida and has a client base of major Japanese companies, multinationals and Fortune 500 corporations.

Worldwide CEO of Aegis Research, Adrian Chedore commented 'The acquisition of Research Fact is a win-win situation for both AMI and Research Fact and we are thrilled that this has come together so well - a great piece of news indeed especially given the depressed state of global economies. The acquisition of Research Fact is very much aligned with AMI's business interests and supports our company's aggressive expansion strategy in the Asia Pacific region.'

AMI's CEO North Asia, Peter Snell, added 'Research Fact's high quality service, in-depth analysis and use of advanced methodologies allied to a strong base of local and multinational clients, is completely compatible and consistent with AMI's standards of excellence.'

Mr. Snell will be responsible for overseeing operations in Japan and Korea and will be based in Tokyo from early 2002.

AMI is a leading market research company in the Asia Pacific region. Established in 1991, AMI has over 900 employees across 14 wholly owned offices in Asia. AMI joined the Aegis Group in March 2000.
