Information Resources Partners with MVI

April 3 2003

Information Resources, Inc. in the US has announced a new strategic agreement with Management Ventures, Inc. (MVI), the largest retail research organisation in the world. Under the agreement, IRI will become the exclusive supplier of syndicated retail tracking and consumer household panel-based information for MVI and its U.S. customers.

IRI's consumer and marketplace insights will be used to enrich MVI's training curriculum and will be integral to the expansion of MVI's Web-enabled Retailer Resource Centers and other retail account planning tools. The relationship provides new levels of information and advanced analytic tools to further understand consumer shopping types, trips, and spending patterns across a host of top-tier retailers.

'We are pleased to be working with MVI to share the value of IRI's syndicated retail tracking and household panel services through MVI's hands-on training and account planning solutions,' said Allen Hill, executive vice president of Retail Initiatives for IRI. 'Partnering with MVI brings enhanced value to IRI's customers as well. Working closely with MVI's retail business experts and analysts enables IRI to leverage MVI's strategic industry understandings across IRI's entire product and service portfolio.'

'The CPG marketplace remains fiercely competitive and our clients require accurate, timely market information and insights to guide their business decisions,' said Dan O'Connor, president and CEO of MVI. 'Our two organizations will bring together the best of both worlds to deliver new, powerful analysis and insights critical to finding opportunities and growth in today's marketplace.'
