Synovate Acquires ViewsCast

Global market research company Synovate has fully acquired technology company ViewsCast Ltd., which specialises in automated call centre satisfaction monitoring, allowing clients to experience the real 'voice of the customer'.

'ViewsCast was originally developed as a call centre-monitoring tool, but it soon became apparent that this would be an ideal tool for market research,' said Global Director of ViewsCast, Bruce Wells. 'The move was a natural one, given that Synovate shares many of its clients with ViewsCast including major retail, financial, telecom and IT companies including BT, Powergen and HSBC. All will now have their market research and call centre needs met by one company, with the obvious advantages of synergy between operating departments'.

The product is unique in the market research industry. ViewsCast was originally set up in August 2000 specifically to offer call-centre monitoring, with the development of broader applications in market research occurring more recently. 'The addition of ViewsCast to the Synovate portfolio will strengthen and consolidate our offering in many areas, including CRM and customer satisfaction measurement,' said Synovate Global CEO Adrian Chedore. 'Synovate already had partial ownership of the company, but we felt the product had such huge potential that we wanted to have full involvement and influence on its development'.
