New Media Industry Panel in UK

Media Guardian and NOP Research UK have formed a long-term partnership to develop a unique resource for the whole media industry, the first findings of which are released this week.

A specially recruited panel of media professionals including media owners, advertisers, advertising agencies, media sales, media planning and marketing personnel will be questioned quarterly to develop a truly representative industry confidence barometer and a brands reputation index.

Media Guardian and NOP believe that the barometers will provide essential comprehensive information on both the industry and the position of individual firms within it.

The first set of Media Guardian/NOP research results show that the war has had a dramatic short-term effect on media industry confidence. This reinforces the findings of the recent IPA Bellwether survey of advertisers alone. The majority of respondents (51%) think that the UK economy will decline over the next three months. However, over a third (34%) believe the long-term prognosis is good and the economy will grow over the longer term.
