New Group Heads at Perseus

September 29 2003

Web-based survey software and services provider Perseus Development Corporation has appointed Alan J. Farias to head up its new Professional Services group. He was previously Director of Primary Research at IDC.

As Vice President of Professional Services, Farias will lead two new business areas, Educational Services and Panel Services. The former will provide customers with new training courses for designing and implementing survey research projects, while the latter will develop a set of solutions for panel management and panel recruitment.

As a Director at IDC Farias was responsible for primary research, support of US-based syndicated research and of IDC's consulting practices. He previously worked as Research Manager for the highly-regarded IDC publication, Computerworld and on Project Atlas, which gathered Web usage data and opinions from more than 28,000 respondents.

'The professional services aspect of our business has become increasingly important to our success as a software company', said Rich Nadler, President of Perseus. 'Given its importance, we are pleased to welcome Alan to Perseus. His experience in market research will be instrumental in leading our research services groups to success and providing our customers with new services and solutions'.

Perseus has also promoted Kacie Harkins to Vice President of Custom Business & Hosting Services, another new business group, after three years as Director of Perseus Research Services.
