More Business Through The Wire

October 13 2003

CATI specialist The Wire has reported record sales for the first six months of its financial year, up 75% on the same period in 2002. Turnover for the period March to August 2003 was £1.4m.

Established in 1997 the company has grown rapidly. Turnover was £700k in 1997-8, £1.6m in 2000-1 and this year is expected to top £2.5m. The Wire recently became part of Incepta Marketing Intelligence (see www.mrweb.com/drno/news2584.htm ), along with the other companies under the wing of its original parent DVL Smith.

The company moved to larger premises in Shoreditch a year ago, doubling its telephone centre capacity to 100 CATI stations. It has also recently launched new products including The Wire Audio Lab, featuring sound files played to respondents digitally through CATI for advertising testing; and hired new staff to expand the Project Management team and DP department.

According to MD Kathy Hurst, 'This has been a very exciting time for us. Expanding our CATI resource has meant that we've been able to take on more projects and complete them to tighter timescales than before. In the same period we've also conducted an increasing number of large-scale international projects, which is set to be an important growth area for the business'.
