Futuristic Office for The Leading Edge

January 6 2004

Australian research consultancy The Leading Edge has relocated to a new purpose built work space in Millers Point, New South Wales. In keeping with the company's name and culture, the new offices are state-of-the-art with group rooms featuring simulated supermarket shelves and 360 degree CCTV for observation from anywhere in the building.

According to CEO Derek Leddie the new building 'oozes soul and is more like a lounge room than a traditional office. We have specifically set out to address the needs of our clients and our people by purposefully creating an environment that will enhance productivity, drive creativity, and be motivational and inspirational'. When designing the new environment, training and development for clients and staff was a top priority, and the new building incorporates an area that can seat up to 60 people for this purpose.

Leddie believes the environment will be a factor in 'attracting the best people in the industry and keeping them motivated and stimulated. The new layout will deliver a much higher level of team communication and bring our specialists closer to the project teams.

'We have developed meeting rooms which reflect and support our way of working such as The Story Telling rooms, The Lab, The Incubator, The Spirit room and The Cone of Silence rooms - each room is designed for a specific function from generating insights to presenting, from R&D to brainstorming and idea generation'.

The Leading Edge is also launching a new brand identity with a new Web site to be launched within the month. The new address is Pier 8/9, 23 Hickson Road, Millers Point, NSW, 2000 and the telephone number is now +61 2 9258 4444.

Since 1990, The Leading Edge has been Australia's fastest growing independently-owned research consultancy. It also has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
