Truth Prepares to Open in Asia and Ramps Up NY Presence

February 21 2011
UK-headquartered insight consultancy Truth has hired Claire Parham to head its new office in Singapore, prior to its opening in May. The firm has also appointed Michael Carlon and Sharon Walsh as directors of its New York offshoot Strategic Truth Inc.

Claire Parham, Michael Carlon and Sharon WalshTruth - which was launched in 2007 by Andy Dexter, the former CEO of Incepta Marketing Intelligence - has a headcount of 40 and recently opened its first overseas office in New York (Strategic Truth Inc).

In January, the firm promoted Senior Partners Neil Coburn to the position of Head of Global and Leanne Tomasevic to Head of UK, in advance of further overseas expansion planned for later in the year.

Parham joins, in preparation for the launch of the new office in Asia, from London-based brand development agency Sundance where she served as a Project Director, responsible for developing new product strategies and delivering brand insight to global clients such as Unilever, Pepsico and Cadbury.

Commenting on the new operation, Parham said that by having a team based in the AsiaPac region, Truth will provide an ‘even deeper cultural overlay’ to its fieldwork, while also working directly with clients in the region.

In New York, Carlon joins from MarketVision, before which, he served as VP Strategic Insights at OTX, and worked clientside at Unilever and MasterCard Worldwide.

Most recently, Walsh served as VP in Synovate’s financial services practice, prior to which, she was a Research Manager at American Express, and an Account Planner at Young & Rubicam.

The trio will report to Coburn, who comments: ‘Truth has always been about bringing together people with diverse, often specialised talents, and unifying them to solve our clients’ business challenges. We’re now looking to do this on a worldwide scale, and our aim is to combine talent from across the globe to give our clients business perspectives across all their markets, while working as a single integrated team.’
