Kadence Names Ooi as New Malaysia MD

Kadence International has appointed Nielsen veteran Barry Ooi as Managing Director of its operations in Malaysia.

Barry OoiFounded in 1992, UK-based Kadence has offices in the USA, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and China.

Ooi joins with more than 20 years’ business development, marketing and international research experience, including 15 years spent at Nielsen. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Shopper Insights, South East Asia, prior to which he was Head of Retail Measurement Services for Nielsen Malaysia. He is also the Vice President of the Malaysian Marketing Research Society.

Kadence International Group Chairman Simon Everard welcomes Ooi’s ‘extensive mix of experience and knowledge of the local market... excellent management and leadership skills combined with an entrepreneurial flair’.

Ooi will be supported by Kadence Malaysia’s existing management team which includes Head of Qual Anna Khoo, Quant Ad Sara Liew and Regional Finance Manager Lim Bih Fen.

Ooi replaces Benjamin Webb, also a former Nielsen exec, who was Director of Nielsen Malaysia before joining Kadence in 2009.
