Appinions Raises $3m for Influencer Platform

New York-based Appinions has secured $3m in funding, including $2m from the sale of a 15.4% stake in the business to Toronto-based merchant bank Difference Capital Funding.

Larry LevyThrough the Appinions platform (formerly known as Jodange), organizations can identify, analyze, engage and measure relevant influencers. The system extracts and aggregates opinions from more than five million sources, including blogs, social networks, forums, and newspaper and magazine articles.

Appinion's latest funding will be used to fuel its sales and marketing efforts, and follows on from a $1.2m investment made in 2009, which it has since been using to extend its reach in the media, legal, energy and technology sectors.
