iCrossing Names New CEO

US digital marketing agency and online buzz measurement specialist iCrossing has appointed ad agency veteran Nick Brien as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Brian Powley who is leaving to pursue 'other business interests'.

Nick BrienThe firm offers a range of marketing services including SEO and web development as well as research and analytics. Acquired by media and marketing giant Hearst Corporation in 2010, the firm recently launched an online tool called ResponsiveAi, which combines data from Hearst's more than 200 million worldwide users with client-owned first party and other third party data.

Brien (pictured), who also takes on the role of President of Hearst Magazines Marketing Services, most recently worked as a Consultant, Board advisor and early-stage investor in digital media, advertising and tech startups. Earlier, he was Chairman & CEO at McCann Worldgroup, CEO of Interpublic Group's Mediabrands, CEO of Universal McCann and CEO of Publicis-owned Arc Worldwide, and he held senior positions at Starcom MediaVest, and WCRS.

In his new dual role, Brien is tasked with expanding the relationship between Hearst and iCrossing. He will report to David Carey, President, Hearst Magazines, who comments: 'Nick prioritizes and promotes creativity, speed and service with a global perspective, and when married to the tremendous data, editorial resources and expertise of Hearst Magazines around the world, iCrossing will play an increasingly important role for its clients.
