MMR Expands to India and South Africa

Oxfordshire-based consumer insight and sensory specialist MMR Research Worldwide (MMR) has opened a new office in Mumbai, India and another in Durban, South Africa.

Sandeep Budhiraja and Maria Da SerraThe firm, which also has offices in London, Shanghai, Singapore and New York, provides clients in the food, drink and personal care sectors with sensory research, product testing, NPD and emotion-based research.

The Mumbai operation will be managed by Sandeep Budhiraja, who joins with nearly two decades' experience from work in India and China at agencies including Millward Brown, Nielsen, icon Added Value, IMRB International, TNS, and IMS Health. Maria Da Serra will head up the Durban office, after sixteen years in the FMCG sector, including a number of Africa category and consumer insight roles at director level at Unilever, and more recently as a director at ProInsights Consulting.

MMR global CEO Mat Lintern says the firm's expansion into India and Africa reflects the increased importance placed on these large and diverse regions by clients. He comments: 'By building experienced teams in both regions, we will be even better placed to offer both international and domestic clients with more convenient access to our full range of services, strong in-market knowledge and context, and more reliable and higher quality fieldwork.'
