Flamingo Promotes for co-CEO Role, Hires First COO

Consumer and cultural insight agency Flamingo has promoted Sam Gomez to the role of London co-CEO, alongside current agency head Ednyfed Tappy. The firm has also hired former Kantar exec Robert Nagadowski as its first Group Chief Operating Officer.

Flamingo was founded in 1997 by Kirsty Fuller and Maggie Collier and acquired by media and marketing holding group Omnicom a decade later. As well as offices in London, the company operates from Mumbai, New York, São Paulo, Shanghai, Singapore, Jakarta and Tokyo. In recent years, Flamingo has set up several specialist practices, including Digital Forensics and Social Purpose, to expand its core people and cultural insight business.

Gomez joined the firm in 2001 as an SRE, before setting up the Singapore office and serving as MD for the APAC region, and more recently was Head of Client Strategy based in France. Earlier, she was a Project Director with Reflexions Market Research, and a Research Consultant with Armstrong International. In her new role she will partner with Tappy to jointly shape and lead the London business, while continuing to build on a series of growth initiatives that have expanded the company's offering and client portfolio. Tappy says the new arrangement will help 'tackle the challenges ahead', as well as shape the future of the business.

Nagadowski is charged with ensuring that the agency has 'best-in-class' systems and facilities across its eight existing offices. He will also be responsible for establishing the infrastructure needed for expansion into new locations as the Group continues to grow. He spent twelve years at Kantar, most recently as Head of Business Systems, and previously as Programme Manager and Head of Project Management for Kantar Operations. He began his career at BMRB.
