Join the Dots Names New Head of Asia

Consumer insight firm Join the Dots has hired former System 1 exec Maria Spinelli as Head of Asia, based in Singapore and replacing Karen Schofield who is to leaving at the end of the month to 'pursue other interests'.

Maria SpinelliManchester, UK-based Join the Dots, which also has offices in New York and Singapore, and was bought out by its management team in 2017, combines primary research with psychology, behavioural economics and consumer trend tracking. Spinelli (pictured) will join after six years at System 1 (formerly known as BrainJuicer), where she latterly served as SVP, Asia. Earlier, she spent nearly four years at Millward Brown, and five at Research International, having begun her research career at TNS.

Commenting on the appointment, Group CEO Quentin Ashby said: 'We're delighted that Maria is joining us and are looking forward to seeing her further develop our business across Asia. We have a flexible and innovative offer that's well suited to Asian markets and Maria is the perfect fit to help our clients across the region take full advantage of our expertise'.

From April, Spinelli will replace Schofield, who joined the agency in 2007 and was the founding MD of the Singapore operation. She began her career at B&MR, before moving to Wirthlin Worldwide as an SRE, and Harris Interactive as Research Manager. Ashby added: 'It has been great to work with Karen over many years - she has played a key role in the growth of Join the Dots and the company's international success to date. She leaves the Singapore business in good shape and we look forward to seeing what she does next. We wish her all the very best'.
