SRAX Finds CEO for Growing BIGtoken Marketplace

Financial data technology company SRAX has appointed angel investor and cryptocurrency analyst Lou Kerner as CEO of its BIGtoken subsidiary - a consumer-managed data marketplace.

BIG token offers rewards for participating consumers; help with developing good consumer experience for software firms; and transparent, verified consumer data for advertisers. SRAX has invested strongly in this and other new divisions including luxury consumer analyst Lux and investor intelligence and data analytics platform Sequire. Having sold off its healthcare / pharma data business SRAXmd to fund and focus on the newer launches, it last year raised $13m in debt funding for BIGtoken and Sequire. BIGtoken was launched in India in 2019 via a JV.

SRAX is in the process of merging BIGtoken with Force Protection Video Equipment Corp (FPVD), of whose shares it will receive 88.9% in exchange for 100% of BIGtoken: FPVD will then be renamed BIGtoken, Inc. with Kerner as CEO.

Kerner began his career as a Wall Street media sector analyst, spending four years at Goldman Sachs. He then moved to working in tech companies: his first CEO role was at The .tv Corporation, which acquired the top-level domain .tv from the island nation of Tuvalu, and was sold to Verisign in 2001. He then worked for early social media firm Bolt Media, became an angel investor, launched a venture capital fund in 2012 and joined Flight Ventures, focusing on tech companies founded by Israeli teams. Since 2017, he has focused on cryptocurrency as an analyst, investor and advisor. He is a Partner in an AngelList syndicate that actively invests in crypto projects, and started CryptoMondays, the largest crypto-focused Meetup group with chapters in 50+ cities worldwide. Among his other ambitions for BIGtoken, he intends to 'fully embrace crypto as an alternative reward' for the firm's growing consumer base.

Christopher Miglino, CEO of SRAX says of the appointment: 'Lou has been working with data and Internet startups his entire career.
