Enero Hires for Strategy and M&A Role

Enero Group, the parent of research firms The Leading Edge and The Digital Edge, has appointed Nick Burton as Group Strategy and M&A Director, based in its HQ in Sydney.

Burton (pictured) joins from consulting firm Bain & Company, where he spent the last four years in London and Sydney as a senior manager, leading projects focused on corporate strategy and transformation for large enterprises; and also worked extensively with major Australian and global private equity investors to assess potential acquisition targets. Prior to Bain, he worked in the Institutional Banking and Markets team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and as a startup advisor for Startup Bootcamp Fintech in London. He holds an MBA from the London Business School.

As part of the executive leadership team, he reports directly to the CEO, former Nike exec Brent Scrimshaw. Burton will be responsible for developing and executing the 'group's growth strategy and mergers and acquisitions activities' - seemingly a sign of intent to return to the M&A trail.

Previously known as Photon, Enero consists of a network of eleven specialist companies operating out of hubs in Sydney, London and New York and with more than 600 staff. In recent half-year results the group reported net profit up 233% to $13.3m and net revenue up 19% to $81m.

Scrimshaw says of the appointment: 'Nick's industry experience and deep expertise in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions will be invaluable to Enero and our agencies, as we progress our global strategy and identify growth opportunities across the group.
