Introduction

To strengthen our APAC operations and support growth, we are seeking a Project Management Team Leader with a solid background in delivering global, multi-country and local online market research projects, and the capability and motivation to lead a team of five project managers in Seoul, South Korea.

This role sits at the intersection of delivery excellence and people management, with a strong focus on day-to-day execution, team coordination, practical coaching, performance oversight, and problem-solving. The Team Leader supports the team by prioritizing work, addressing delivery challenges, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently and consistently to meet client expectation and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is organized, pragmatic, and confident in managing both people and projects in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based in Seoul, South Korea and reports to the Regional Head of Client Services.


Roles and Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of market research project managers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
• Set clear delivery standards, best practices, and escalation frameworks across the team
• Provide regular performance coaching, workload planning, and development feedback
• Ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery across all projects managed by the team.

Project Oversight & Delivery Excellence

• Oversee end-to-end execution of online market research projects across the team, from scoping through final deliverables
• Step in directly to lead complex, high-risk, or escalated projects when required
• Ensure strong project planning, risk management, and quality control across multiple concurrent studies
• Guide teams through market research-specific complexities such as sampling, questionnaire review, multi-market execution, and data quality.

Client & Stakeholder Partnership

• Act as a senior escalation point for clients, ensuring issues are resolved professionally and proactively
• Build strong, trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Partner closely with Sales and Research teams to ensure clear handovers, aligned expectations, and strong delivery governance
• Communicate clearly on project status, risks, and priorities at a portfolio level.

What success looks like in your first 12 months:

• A confident, engaged project management team with clear delivery standards
• Improved on-time delivery, reduced escalations, and consistent project quality
• Strong collaboration with Sales, Research and Operations teams.
• Demonstrate strong mastery of Toluna's processes, platforms, and tools to effectively lead and support the team.

Skills and Experience

• 6+ years in project management within market research, insights, or related research environment
• Proven experience leading and developing project management teams
• Leadership experience - mentoring & coaching juniors in their existing role
• Experience with online research methodologies and quantitative research techniques such as concept testing, max-diff, conjoint analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Highly motivated, able to work within tight timelines and under pressure.
• Experience handling client escalation and high-stakes delivery challenges
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of other statistical software (SPSS, R) is a plus.
• Native Korean speaker who is proficient in English for reading, understanding, and communication.
