Introduction
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a trusted advisor to the business in China. This role is responsible for assisting management in handling all HR activities, including employee relations and performance management. The primary goal is to ensure a pleasant, productive, and legally compliant workplace where employees are motivated to achieve the company's mission.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted business partner to management, developing and implementing HR strategies that align with company goals and promote a positive culture.
- Serve as the primary link between management and employees, handling grievances, claims, and workplace issues to maintain a harmonious and productive environment.
- Oversee the performance appraisal system, assist managers in addressing performance issues/concerns, and provide coaching on career development and disciplinary actions.
- Assess training needs, implement development programs, and support talent management activities including succession planning and retention.
- Maintain accurate employee records, staff files, and HRIS data to ensure legal compliance and support data-driven decision-making.
- Administer salary plans and benefit programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with local statutory requirements.
- Ensure all HR practices comply with China labor law and regulations, minimizing legal risk across the employee lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Finance, local accounting, and payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and changes.
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Verticals, IT, and Hiring Managers to deliver an exceptional employee experience and high-quality business outcomes.
- Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, etc.) and report to management to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding contracts, policies, and paperwork, ensuring a supportive and responsive HR function.
- Promote company values and lead HR initiatives focused on engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, and employee wellbeing.
Qualifications & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resource experience, with proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist in a medium to large organization.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with local employees and global stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of all areas of HR, including compensation, staffing, benefit programs, and HR systems.
- In-depth knowledge of China labor law and local statutory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable working with HRIS data.
- Proven ability to work across a range of stakeholders, facilitating communication and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to act as a mediator and resolve conflict informally.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a strong execution focus, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to understand the business, its strategy, and mission to act as a true business enabler.
