Job Spec: This boutique insights consultancy has carved out a strong reputation within the FMCG and retail space.
Blending shopper insight, category thinking and practical commercial advisory, they turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations so that the major FMCGs and retailers know what shoppers are thinking and want and how they are different.
They're now looking for a Category Insights Consultant to join their Sydney team.
This is a highly client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys both the relationship and insight side of consulting.
You'll be involved in:
- Managing and developing relationships across a portfolio of FMCG and retail clients, including onsite collaboration
- Consult with stakeholders to define business problems
- Analyse shopper and category data to uncover commercially relevant insights
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives
- Present insights regularly
- Grow your expertise in category, shopper, and loyalty strategy.
About You
You could come from a research agency, shopper insights consultancy, category team or FMCG insights environment.
More importantly, you're someone who enjoys working directly with clients, communicating insights clearly and thinking commercially about what the data actually means.
You'll bring:- Experience working with sales data, loyalty data, customer data or survey data
- Category knowledge including range optimisation, product deletions, innovation, planograms, pricing, promotions, shopper missions
- Strong understanding of market, sales, and shopper data
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders
- High attention to detail and strong planning skills.
