Join a dedicated policy and evaluation team within a leading Australian social research organisation.

Its mission is to inform decision making and advance understanding of society through world class social research and evaluation that is high quality, ethical and socially responsible.

This growing team is looking to hire 2 x Research Directors to work with a hugely experienced leadership team and burgeoning junior team. The opportunity offers rich, diverse and meaningful work with continued learning and opportunities for direct line management.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Lead and design new policy evaluation projects leveraging qualitative/quantitative mixed-method approaches
  • Lead decisions about appropriate evaluation methodology
  • Manage and co-ordinate project, team and stakeholder activities
  • Lead the translation of data into a coherent assessment that responds to the evaluation question
  • Deliver projects through all phases - proposal to presentation
  • Build capability and support the professional development of the team
  • Working closely with Senior Directors on the direction and growth of the evaluations team

Required skills and experience:
  • Relevant tertiary academic qualification
  • Significant experience working in social insights and policy evaluation (end to end)
  • Expert level quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation skills
  • Academic and Government experience of interest
  • Previous commercial consulting experience highly desirable
  • Desire to mentor and train other people
  • Understanding of the Government tender process and the ability in writing high-quality proposals
  • Demonstrated experience in client/stakeholder management.
