Job Spec:

Join a dedicated policy and evaluation team within a leading Australian social research organisation.

Its mission is to inform decision making and advance understanding of society through world class social research and evaluation that is high quality, ethical and socially responsible.

This growing team is looking for bright, curious social researchers who want to learn from amazing senior leaders and build fantastic skills in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and all stages of delivery in impactful evaluations projects.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews and desktop research
  • Work with Directors to manage client relationships
  • Support the design of qualitative and quantitative mixed-method research approaches
  • Design surveys, discussion guides and research materials
  • Support set up and project management of data collection
  • Assist with analysis frameworks and plans
  • Use stats packages like SPSS/Q to analyse data and integrate qual data, other data sets
  • Produce charts, tables, summaries and presentations
  • Mentor new junior recruits
If you have experience in social research and a desire to work in a rigorous and influential policy evaluation team, then this will 100% appeal.

You will enjoy the variety of contributing to important social issues including Domestic Violence, Child Safety, Youth Justice, Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with CALD communities, and Employment.

Required skills and experience:
  • Relevant undergraduate academic qualification
  • 2/3 + years experience in social insights
  • Experience of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation skills
  • Academic and Government experience of interest
  • Previous commercial consulting experience highly desirable
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Brilliant communication skills and desire to work in data consultancy
