Job Spec: This is an exciting role for an expert Social & Government researcher opportunity to join an established agency and be at the forefront of influencing meaningful decisions that shape policies and societal advancements.

Working closely with the national MD, you will be a thought-leader who can drive growth, deliver immense insights, and be an inspirational mentor.

The Role

As the Director of Social and Government Research, you will lead a small but talented team in designing and executing projects that address key societal challenges and behaviour change across communications, policy, service design and evaluation covering areas such as gambling behaviour, road safety, swim safety, emergency relief responses and transport.

With the social and government practice already in good shape, you will take things to the next level as you build on the existing portfolio of work using strategic thinking, strong proposal writing and pitching skills and exemplary client management.

Day to day

  • Strengthen relationships with existing Government clients
  • Design and run mixed methodology research to tackle challenging social issues
  • Inspire and lead a small team (2-3 direct reports)
  • Run strategic hiring to grow the team
  • Drive new business opportunities and promote the agency as an industry thought leader
  • Work closely with the National MD and senior leadership team
About you

We would love to talk to candidates with:
  • 10+ years' experience agency side
  • Expertise in the social & government space
  • Dualist, or qual leaning capabilities
  • Significant experience writing winning Government proposals
  • Ideally brand and comms experience, behaviour change, program evaluations
  • Experience managing staff on projects, or ideally experience having had direct reports
  • Commercial acumen and a hunger to grow a practice area
