Job Spec: This is a rare opportunity for an established evaluation specialist to join this successful, growing, ambitious and fun team, within a leading, highly regarded global agency. The team focus on the environment, sustainability and energy: we're talking hot topics including net zero, climate resilience, clean growth, nature recovery, industrial decarbonisation, and low carbon innovation. This is an opportunity to focus on an area where you have a real passion - and to make a difference to this critical area.

The focus of this role is on evaluating the impact and effectiveness of public policies, programmes and interventions and to draw conclusions and provide recommendations to help UK and global clients set policy priorities, improve effectiveness and strengthen delivery.

Working with a very impressive client list including government departments, climate change agencies, charities, EU bodies and global organisations, the projects this team undertake tend to be large scale, both in terms of challenge and budget, and high profile. The work spans UK-focused work and global programmes (around 25% of their work is European/international).

A key stand-out here is access to both high level resources and respected experts; this is a full service agency with a wide range of services and experts to call upon across research and evaluation including probability, sampling, methods, qual, engagement...

This is a very international team with people from Ecuador, Brazil, Greece, Spain... - they love this diversity. Very friendly, supportive, and ambitious - there is a lot of autonomy (no micro-management!) and a really collaborative atmosphere where people are all ready and willing to help each other out. They also have a great social calendar if you are looking for that.

Your role is to create and oversee high quality impact, process and economic evaluations and to ensure work is delivered on time, to budget. You will be responsible for designing robust evaluation approaches, frameworks and methodologies at both bid and inception stage and then overseeing the delivery of these projects, working closely with the wider team and partners.

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining current client relationships as well as helping develop both existing and new clients, in the UK and internationally. As part of this, there is plenty of opportunity to take part in marketing and profile raising activity including speaking at conferences, creating thought leadership pieces and taking an active role in stakeholder events.

The successful candidate will have a background in delivering largescale evaluations in a commercial/agency environment, using a range of evaluation methods. A focus on quality and on managing and delivering programmes to timescales and budget is critical. As is a commercial track record in terms of leading winning proposals. As importantly, the client is looking for a genuine 'passion for the planet'; someone who is genuinely interested in this area.

A highly innovative and forward-thinking environment, this is a place for people who love to take ownership and make things happen - you are given autonomy, with support to do just that. The people here are genuinely curious and interested in what they do. The training on offer is second-to-none and development opportunities, here and overseas should you wish, are huge.

As a result of all this, people talk about being challenged, consistently offered new opportunities, being listened to, and enjoying being in a culture where anyone at any level can have an opinion and lead on projects.
