Job Spec: This organisation informs decisions which shape the world. They a global independent agency which helps governments develop better public policies and services by understanding what works and why. The team are motivated by creating work which impacts on people's lives - in their words, 'this work makes a massive difference'. So if you are looking to use your mixed methods research skills in a meaningful way, across a wide range of policy areas - read on!

This role, which could be at either Senior Research Executive or top-end of Research Executive-level is focused on research which helps improve public services and policies: looking at how services should be designed and implemented - and also evaluating the impact of services and policies and proposing changes. The goal is to improve delivery and drive outcomes, often for the most vulnerable audiences.

You will find yourself working across a wide range of important policy areas. This role will see you working on a hugely high-profile study into the experiences of children and young people in a very pivotal area - this is mainly qual work. You will be looking into support for disabled people - to consider the effectiveness of both financial and practical support and how these can be improved. You will look into housing/housing development, affordable housing (tracking tenants over time, improving the quality of housing) - as well as a very wide range of other policy areas.

This is a mixed methods role, and as well as wanting to hear from mixed methods researchers, we are open to people who have a preference for quant or qual but want to be trained in/develop their skills in the other area. You will be working with brilliant senior leaders and there is plenty of exposure to experts in statistics, behavioural techniques, deliberative work, ethnographic studies etc. This is a place where people stay for the long term and develop themselves and their career; there is a commitment to learning and plenty of opportunity for progression.

As well as your technical research skills, you will need strong project management skills: managing the moving parts is vital; confidence talking and responding to clients and good communication skills - both verbal and written. We need a strong team player who is down to earth, creative and passionate about the work. This is a fun, supportive, collaborative team of people who pull together.
