In-Store Shopper Behavior Tool Enhanced

January 11 2010

In the US, in-store business intelligence provider BVI Networks has made several enhancements to its RetailNEXT analytics platform, to provide data on shopper behavior in the store environment for retailers and product manufacturers.

in-store intelligence tool upgradedThe RetailNEXT platform collects, analyzes and presents data - such as traffic patterns, dwell times and point-of-purchase activity - via a web-based dashboard. Retailers receive traffic data down to the exact aisle, shelf or display to understand which areas attract shoppers and sell products.

When coupled with transaction and inventory data, the firm says retailers are also able to see conversion rates for every aisle and display to make changes that affect the bottom line.

The tool has now been integrated with 'RockTenn Merchandising Displays' on-shelf availability technology, to provide visibility and metrics for tracking out-of-stocks, replenishment, customer shelf activity and behavior.

In addition, it now includes video-based analytics for 'people counting' at aisles, and the means to export video clips to enable insight sharing across an enterprise.

A new data-to-map feature overlays data on the store planogram for identifaction of 'hot zones' and store performance.

Separately, BVI has partnered with custom software development services provider Direct Source, to bring together security, store transaction and merchandising data to help retailers understand consumer behaviour.

'Direct Source brings the services expertise for integrating and implementing store technologies that will ensure even the most complex retail environments will benefit from the advanced in-store business intelligence systems we are bringing to the market,' stated BVI Networks CEO Alexei Agratchev.
