Gongos Debuts iCommunities App

September 27 2010

US-based qual specialist Gongos Research has launched a mobile app for its iCommunities services, available for the iPhone and iPod touch, with other platforms scheduled for coverage soon.

The i°Communities mobile appThe i°Communities mobile app will be offered to the 30,000 consumers currently registered in the company's client-sponsored communities, and will also serve as a 'gateway' for new arrivals to participate in Gongos' 20,000-strong Consumer Village qual and quant 'meta-community'.

In addition to taking part in discussions, 'flashpolls' and mobile-enabled online surveys, users can connect with like-minded consumers, capture and instantly upload images and video to the community, and use the app's 'Shake it Up' feature to find and tap into current hot topics among members.

Gongos is calling the new offer 'The App That Pays You Back' because consumers taking part in sponsored activities through i°Communities mobile will earn points that transfer into Amazon gift certificates. The company will also donate a 5% match on points earned in Consumer Village to charities including Save the Children and Plan U.S.A.

VP Research Innovation & Technology Greg Heist said the app was 'a testament to the company's commitment to create immersive methods to engage consumers in marketing research'. 'Mobile communities are the next generation of intimacy between consumers and corporations' says Heist. 'In the same way the iPhone has changed the way we think about mobile devices, we believe i°Communities mobile will change the way research fits into people's lives.'

Gongos opened in 1991 and made it into the Honomichl Top 50 for the US in 2008. Web site: www.gongos.com .
