Partners Offer Simultaneous Group Translation

Language Connect - a specialist in market research language services - and online qual platform provider VisionsLive have partnered to provide a simultaneous interpreting and moderating service for international online qual groups.

Language Connect provides translation, localisation, interpretation and verbatim coding services for the MR industry, via offices in the UK, Germany and Australia, and a network of 5,000 native speaking linguists. VisionsLive hosts and manages online qual research, and can also manage sample recruitment in most countries of the world via its panel network.

The partners say combining their skills will allow the hosting of live online focus groups with a moderator communicating with up to eight respondents in their local language. At the same time, an interpreter will observe the group and provide a running commentary to the researchers and clients on a separate audio line.

Language Connect Business Development Director Maggie Little says the partnership means research agencies 'can recruit and field a qual research project anywhere in the world in a matter of days'. To date, common languages requested for group interpreting include Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian, in addition to the main European languages.
