Ebiquity Revenues Double

July 27 2011

UK-based media and marketing analytics firm Ebiquity has reported a 108% increase in total revenue to £44.2m for the year ended 30 April 2011 (2010: £21m). During the period, operating profit doubled to £5.3m (2010: £2.6m).

Michael GreenlessFounded in 1997, North Tyneside-based Ebiquity - formerly Thomson Intermedia - offers media auditing and marketing effectiveness services, as well as competitive ad and news monitoring.

Last month, the company took a 50.1% stake in its Russian media practice partner, The Joined Up Media Company (JUMC), and in May, it acquired TCRG Holdings Limited, the parent company of reputation specialist Echo Research.

For the last financial year, underlying profit before tax was £4.8m (2010: £2.5m) while reported loss before tax was £1.8m (2010: profit of £0.1m), due to the integration of Xtreme Information, which the firm was accomplished eight months faster than forecast.

However, as a result of the integration, the firm's data processing operation in Bromley, Kent, and Hamburg, Germany were both closed, resulting in staff redundancies.

International revenues now represent 71% of total group revenue, up from 38% last year. Following recent acquisitions, Ebiquity Germany now represents 13% of total worldwide revenue, while the US market has grown by more than 40%, and the newly established Ebiquity Italy has grown by almost 25% year-on-year.

Michael Greenlees, CEO, comments: 'Through various acquisitions internationally, Ebiquity is now the only media business that can offer clients a full spectrum of analysis and insight on a global basis. Our combined skills in data processing, software development and analytics give us a unique opportunity to build a business in a market with growing demand.'
