US Buy Creates New Digital Agency

September 5 2011

In Connecticut, US, List Services Corp. (LSC) has acquired digital marketing firm Accession Media for an undisclosed sum. Accession will be combined with the LSC Digital arm to form a new firm, Allora Media, offering a range of services including web analytics consulting.

Allora will have about 100 employees and will be headed as President by List Services President Joe McCluskey, and as MD by Accession's current President Josh Katinger. McCluskey says there will be no redundancies as a result of the acquisition.

In addition to web analytics, Allora's services will include direct mail and email marketing; web site design, development and content management; and search marketing.

According to McCluskey, the two organizations are a good fit in terms of matching personalities, with employees coming from similar backgrounds; and that the buy was in part a response to requests from email marketing clients for help in optimizing the landing pages to which its email campaigns drove consumers: 'Email marketing is not just about getting an email delivered but what happens when [consumers] hit the Web asset. We wanted to manage that asset for them.'

McCluskey says the Italian word 'Allora' has many meanings, all positive, including 'hello' and 'tell me more'.
