Kieselstein Leaves TNS for Top Penton Job

B2b media and insight company Penton Media has appointed David Kieselstein as its new CEO, based in New York. A veteran of Time Warner, he was most recently CEO of TNS North America.

David KieselsteinIn the TNS role - which he had held since 2008, Kieselstein worked on a full transformation of the company's operations, significantly improving profitability at the same time as increasing employee satisfaction to the top spot among the agency's global regions.

Prior to this, from 2006 to 2008, he led Dun & Bradstreet's Small Business Division and served on the information giant's Global Leadership Board. He has spent most of his career at Time Warner, in roles including Chief Executive of the Parenting Media Group, President and Chief Executive of the Personal Finance Media Group - where he helped launch CNNMoney - and in marketing management positions at FORTUNE Magazine and the centralized direct marketing and database division of Time Inc. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a BA in Economics from Binghamton University.

Penton's Co-Chairmen Tyler Zachem and Anup Bagaria said in a statement: 'David's in-depth knowledge of the media and marketing industries, proven leadership skills and tremendous strategic vision make him the ideal executive to take on this important role. His longstanding track record of identifying new areas of growth to accelerate bottom line performance will be instrumental as Penton continues to broaden its digital solutions, enter new industry sectors, and explore growth markets outside the US.'

Kieselstein will join Penton's Board of Directors. The Company is headquartered in NYC with around 1,100 employees in offices including Cleveland; Chicago; Kansas; Boulder and Fort Collins, CO; and Hong Kong.
