MicroStrategy Launches Facebook Analytics Tool

Business intelligence software provider MicroStrategy has launched an application called 'Wisdom Professional', which it claims can anlayze the personal data of more than 12 million anonymous opted-in Facebook users.

Sanju BansalFounded in 1989, the firm provides platforms which analyze data stored within their own company, on the web and on mobile devices; while its social intelligence solution helps companies understand and engage their customer and fans on social networks.

Wisdom Professional aims to provide insights about customers, competitors and trends via analysis of a wide array of consumer Facebook data. Clients can chop the data according to demographic and psychographic variables, geographical location and brand interests; draw comparisons; and monitor audience reach.

The tool also integrates third-party data, such as that from the US Census, and includes an 'affluence score' that indicates the wealth of any given population segment, and 'influence' and 'popularity' scores, that rank a person's social networking influence and popularity.
