RapidBlue Analytics Tool Pinpoints Lost Sales

August 1 2012

Helsinki-based RapidBlue Solutions has launched a point-of-sale (POS) integrated version of its Shopper Analytics solution, to enable retailers to analyze those shopping trips which do not lead to sales.

Sampo ParkkinenThe Finnish company uses sensors placed in relevant retail locations to collect real-time shopper movement data from consumers' mobile devices. This data generates metrics and analytics to uncover how long consumers spend in an environment, how often they visit a location, and what time of day has the greatest potential for products.

Earlier this month, the firm was granted an EU-wide patent for profiling consumers based on their historical and current movements, gathered anonymously using radio frequency technologies.

The new product offers retailers the ability to combine RapidBlue's Shopper Analytics visitor data with sales information received from point-of-sale equipment, enabling them to analyze shopper visits that don't result in sales.

Chief Operating Officer Sampo Parkkinen (pictured) comments: 'Previously any retail store visit not resulting in a purchase has been left unanalyzed. With our POS-integrated analytics, retailers can understand the difference in shopping trips resulting in a purchase and those resulting in a missed opportunity.'
