Fizziology Opens in London to Measure UK Buzz

Hollywood-based social media research firm Fizziology has expanded to Europe with the opening of an office in London, which offers a proprietary system to capture and measure UK social media conversations.

Ben CarlsonBy using sentiment analysis to track opinions on a movie based on what members of the audience are sharing on Twitter, Facebook and blogs, Fizziology provides box office predictions, advertising analysis, guidance on casting decisions, and a variety of other insights. In May, the firm expanded its service to the television industry, with the launch of a new tool called SocialDensity, which measures the social media impact of TV programs.

For its new operation, Fizziology uses a multi-layered language and geo-location approach to capture only UK social media conversations, to help studios, networks and brands better determine how to target their marketing strategies.

The firm says that unlike other providers that rely on small sample sizes and solely on an algorithm instead of human intelligence, Fizziology's service includes the use of trained analysts to read and interpret conversations.
