January 14 2013

Online specialist Lightspeed Research has announced new roles for three of its senior managers, following the integration of sample and research tech firm GMI. Andrew Cayton becomes Global COO, Martin Filz CEO EMEA and Efrain Ribeiro Global Chief Research Officer.

Lightspeed's Senior MoversCayton joined the company in 2003 and has been CEO for the EMEA region since 2009. Filz, who now replaces him in this role, joined just nine months ago as Managing Director EMEA for the newly acquired GMI. Ribeiro, who had served as Global Chief Operating Officer since 2009, becomes Global Chief Research Officer. All three will continue to report to David Day, Global CEO of Lightspeed Research.

In his new role, Cayton will drive the development of Lightspeed's global operations, business planning, global supply, process re-engineering and procurement; and of global platforms to manage business intelligence, workflow, mobile, panel and sample optimization. Online panel guru Ribeiro will lead data quality and respondent engagement initiatives, and promote best practice in online research. Filz will spearhead the growth of the business in the EMEA region, targeting emerging markets.

Day says of the promotions: 'I can think of no time in Lightspeed Research's history that is more exciting than today. Our business is evolving at a rapid pace, and we are focused on innovation and technology that optimise our efficiency and ensure that our offer meets our client evolving research needs. We are fortunate to have some of the finest minds in the industry that understand not only our current business, but more importantly, where we want to be in the future. This new structure strongly positions us to get there.'
