Semcasting Buys Agency to Promote Targeting Platform

Audience targeting data specialist Semcasting has acquired marcoms agency The Marketing Grid, through which it plans to promote its proprietary solutions to mid-sized clients. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ray KingmanSemcasting specializes in data, analytics and audience targeting for both online and off-line marketing. Its flagship online targeting platform Smart Zones is driven by a predictive modeling platform based on an automated genetic modeling technology.

The firm has partnered with The Marketing Grid for several years, the latter firm using Smart Zones with a range of clients. Marty Agius, former President of The Marketing Grid and now VP of Semcasting, says Smart Zones has 'revolutionized' the way his firm's clients reach their target audiences.

Through the acquisition, Semcasting will promote Smart Zones to regional banking, retailers, energy companies, real estate and B2B clients. Ray Kingman (pictured), CEO of Semcasting, comments: 'The Marketing Grid's efforts have been helpful in driving the adoption of the Smart Zones technology into the region. Making the company part of the Semcasting organization was the logical next step in our relationship and one that will benefit existing clients of both organizations.'
