Field Agent Raises $2m

March 13 2015

In the US, mobile research and retail data collection specialist Field Agent has raised $2m in a funding round, which it will use for expansion and new product development.

Rick WestEstablished in 2010 by a team of researchers and based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Field Agent uses mobile technology and a crowdsourcing approach to offer clients real-time feedback from shoppers at their 'point of influence' with brands. Its team of around 600,000 'agents' collect information from retail stores or consumers' homes, or act as mystery shoppers across the country. In 2010, the company acquired shopper insights firm CORE4 Research, and later that year it launched an iPhone app through which users can collect and return information in exchange for cash.

The firm's new funding brings the total raised to date to $4.5m, all coming from Five Elms Capital. Field Agent CEO and co-founder Rick West (pictured) comments: 'Our clients come to us because we have walked in their shoes and understand what it takes to deliver best-in-class data and insights from stores and homes along the consumer's path to purchase. In-store execution and shopper insights are where it's at, and we can help clients and business owners maximize their efforts by providing important data and insights faster and more affordably than our competition.'
