20|20 Launches Real-Time Video Transcription Service

October 8 2015

In the US, 20|20 Research has launched a centralized storage hub and real-time video transcription service called QualMeeting Video Portal, which it claims will cut analysis and report time from days or weeks, to hours.

Jim BrysonFounded in 1996, 20|20 works with both private and public organizations, offering full service programs, consultancy inputs or field and data services. As well as its head office in Nashville, the company has focus group facilities in Charlotte and Miami.

Through its new service, videos are machine-transcribed using a natural-language processing engine, which passes once through the transcript to develop context (for example, 'healthcare', 'travel', or 'finance'), and then again using this context to improve the machine's accuracy. Users will be able search project videos for the most appropriate keyword or verbatim, and then edit and compile a customized video through which to present a study's findings.

Once in the portal, a researcher can review all time-coded videos via key words or phrases. In addition to transcription, analysis and editing, researchers can store their videos in the video portal for later analysis as needed. At present the service is for English-language clients, but the firm says other languages will be added in the near future.

CEO Jim Bryson (pictured) explains: 'In essence, we've developed a 'YouTube-like' system that doesn't just find a specific video, but a specific moment in a specific video, even if a project involves hundreds of videos. Now, researchers will be able to easily compile and present to their clients truly impactful report videos in almost no time at all'.
