NIQ Announces Beauty Retail Data Partnership

Consumer intelligence company NIQ has announced a strategic collaboration with omnichannel prestige beauty retailer Sephora, including expansive point-of-sale coverage of the latter's business, and promising a more comprehensive view of the 'beauty landscape' in North America.

Sephora was established in 1969 in Limoges, France, and has been part of the LVMH Group since 1997. The firm's 56,000 employees operate in 35 markets, serving a community of hundreds of millions of 'beauty followers' across a global omnichannel network of more than 3,200 stores.

The data sharing agreement will give a significant boost to NIQ's total coverage of beauty markets, while Sephora will also make use of NIQ's intelligence within its business. The data firm's Omnishopper and Digital Purchases solution capabilities, expanded in January this year, will help the retailer to understand shifts in consumer buying behavior across both online and off-line channels.
