Fast-Growing BioVid Promotes Hirtle to CEO

June 16 2025

US life science insights and consulting firm BioVid Corporation has promoted Peggy Hirtle from President to Chief Executive. Founding CEO Andrew Aprill will move to the role of Executive Chairman.

Peggy HirtleBristol, PA-based BioVid says the leadership change mirrors and marks a transformation in the business: it has matured 'from a founder-led startup to an institutionally robust consultancy', with a seasoned executive team and proven methodologies. Clients include ten of the top fifteen pharmaceutical companies globally, and in Hirtle's time leading its operations it has more than doubled in size, and significantly expanded its client base across pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors.

The firm was founded in 1998 and integrates behavioral science, AI-powered analytics and commercial expertise, including the proprietary CIAIRA AI platform, which helps life sciences companies understand markets, physicians and patients.

Hirtle has served as President since joining the company in 2019 and has overseen 'a profound evolution', according to the company. 'Six years ago, we brought Peggy in with a clear mission: to scale BioVid's impact without losing our soul,' comments Aprill. 'She's exceeded every expectation. This isn't just a succession plan; it's the natural evolution of a partnership that has already transformed our industry and set new benchmarks.'

The evolution has seen BioVid's client base grow from twelve to 40; the addition of AI-powered insights, communications strategy and advanced analytics to its offering; and the development over three years of the proprietary Cognitive Insight AI platform CIAIRA.

'The life sciences industry is at an inflection point,' says Hirtle, 'facing unprecedented scientific complexity, rapid regulatory evolution, and intense commercial pressure. Companies today don't just need more data. They require critical intelligence that directly drives smarter, faster decisions. That's our unmatched market advantage, and as CEO, I am committed to widening it through strategic growth and innovation.' Priorities for the new CEO include expanding CIAIRA's capabilities, deepening collaborative partnerships with emerging biotech companies through tailored engagement models, and international expansion.
