An update on the progress of the review is expected with or before the firm's third-quarter earnings call in November. Comscore conducted such a review in 2019-20, with speculation rife about a possible sale, but chose instead to recapitalize with an anchor investor, broadband and cable company Charter Communications.
The current review reflects a lack of profitability (despite positive and growing non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA), combined with strong performance from particular divisions such as programmatic ad unit Proximic and Comscore's local TV business - the company reported second quarter financials yesterday.
The firm's share price, which stands at about 1% of its all-time highs ten years ago, has risen since news of the review broke yesterday.
