Media Press Group is the world's second largest provider of entertainment metadata, after Nielsen's Gracenote, and the buy brings its advanced metadata management technology and workflows together with MediaData's footprint and culturally attuned editorial teams. The firms say this blends tech innovation - integration with LLMs and using AI at scale - together with native-language expertise to ensure metadata remains 'accurate, context-rich, and locally relevant'.
Magdalena Cechnicka, CEO of Media Press Group, comments: 'As Europe's leading and the world's second-largest metadata provider, our mission is to combine innovation with deep cultural expertise. We are thrilled to welcome Carles Farrando and the MediaData team.' Carles Farrando (pictured), General Manager of MediaData TV, adds: 'Joining Media Press Group allows us to leverage their innovations and expand our reach. With over 800 million Spanish and Portuguese speakers globally, culturally nuanced metadata is essential for market success.'
