NIQ, which grew out of Nielsen's Buy division and Nielsen Connect, combined with GfK in 2023 to create a new giant in consumer intelligence, with operations in more than 95 countries.
Dabbelt brings around fifteen years' experience in media, ad tech and retail, most recently from Amazon, where he led enterprise sales teams, bespoke retail measurement programs, and go-to-market strategy for the retail giant's DSP. Before this he worked on building and scaling the first retail media solutions for Target's Roundel business with Google, covering search, display and video media.
In his new role, he will focus on building partnerships and leading innovation in retail media networks, delivering solutions for both retailers and brands.
Dan Bonert, who was appointed as Head of Retail Media for NIQ in North America at the turn of the year, comments: 'For NIQ clients, this expansion means access to more robust and innovative retail media solutions that can drive better engagement and results. The CPG industry at large stands to benefit from NIQ's enhanced focus on retail media, as it will lead to more effective and efficient ways to connect with consumers and drive growth.'
