Former TNS, dunnhumby and 84.51 researcher Georgette Angulo-Ramirez has joined the University of Cincinnati as Executive Director of its Center for Business Analytics. She succeeds Tim Cholvat, who has retired.Angulo-Ramirez (pictured) worked briefly for Nielsen before joining TNS NFO in 2006, then moved to consumer data firm dunnhumby in 2011 as an Associate Director for Campaign Management. In April 2015 when the dunnhumby USA JV broke up, most of its staff moved to a new firm called 84.51°, wholly owned by store chain and former JV partner Kroger, using dunnhumby's tools under licence. Angulo-Ramirez spent the next ten years at this analyst firm, latterly as a VP as well as Director of its Strategy Center of Excellence. Her experience includes developing and leading a consulting graduate program, and she says she 'yearned to work with students again.'
In her new role Angulo-Ramirez will nurturing the corporate-academic partnerships of the Center, which is part of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. She will also help to plan and run its three annual analytics events, oversee its training courses in corporate analytics, and head up its analytical research and consulting services. Marianne Lewis, who is Dean and Professor of Management at Lindner, comments: 'Georgette is ideally suited to lead the center's next chapter, where business AI and advanced analytics are transforming every industry. In a rapidly changing world, strong partnerships are essential. We learn better and faster when we learn together. Georgette's rare combination of customer focus and technical expertise will strengthen those partnerships and amplify the impact of the center on both our region and our university.'
