Yabble Adds Image-Based Concept Test

October 2 2025

Synthetic research pioneer Yabble has recently added image-based concept-testing functionality to its Virtual Audiences tool.

Kathryn Topp and Rachel O'SheaFounded by Kathryn Topp and Rachel O'Shea (pictured), headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, and originally known as The Thinking Studio, Yabble has been developing genAI tools for research since 2019. It launched synthetic respondent option Virtual Audiences two years ago this week, and six months later add a facility for users to upload and integrate their own proprietary datasets to tailor the personas of AI respondents to suit their business. The firm has been part of YouGov since August '24.

Clients can now upload static creative assets to Virtual Audiences, to receive 'feedback' from AI personas representing their target audiences. The tool has already been used for ideation, brainstorming, iterative concept testing, hypothetical scenario forecasting, and feedback on storyboards for video advertising.

Virtual Audiences breaks down each client concept into visual attributes such as colour, mood, style and message, allowing the tool's AI personas to react in ways that reflect unique preferences, needs and pain points in the audience they represent. Output combines qualitative opinions with structured quantitative ratings across four key dimensions of the images: appeal, uniqueness, relevance, and purchase intent.

Topp comments: 'For the first time, Yabble users can test creative with AI personas that can comprehend and react to concept images. Our AI image-based concept testing is fast, scalable, and gives clients the confidence to move from concept to execution with clarity.'

On Monday, Ipsos announced the launch of InnoCPT, a consumer-centric concept-product testing solution available through its Ipsos.Digital platform.
