Omni Buys Fellow Analytics Company Explo

October 23 2025

In San Francisco, fast-growing Business Intelligence software company Omni has announced the acquisition of embedded analytics company Explo.

Colin ZimaOmni, which in March raised $69m in Series B funding, is expecting annual recurring revenue (ARR) of around $30m by the end of the year, quadruple the figure for twelve months ago - it has also recently added operations in APAC. The firm's unified analytics platform and dashboards help companies improve self-service, accelerate AI adoption, and build customer-facing data products, and boasts a built-in semantic layer which it says 'ensures consistency, trust, and AI readiness.' Users can define, analyse and visualize key metrics, and build customer-facing data products.

'The Explo team built a product customers love in a crowded market,' says Omni CEO and former Google Search quality head Colin Zima (pictured). 'That's not easy, and it says a lot about their quality and focus. We see an opportunity to learn from their team and customers, and to bring them onto a platform that can grow with them. It's a step toward helping more teams manage all of their analytics use cases - no matter what tools they're using today.'

Explo will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Omni, and its platform will continue to operate for the next 12 months while founders Andrew Chen and Gary Lin and their team supervise their customers' transition to the Omni platform. Zima says this will 'earn their trust for the long run' and concedes, 'We understand that surprises can bring uncertainty, but we're committed to making it a great experience for everyone.' Lin comments: 'Omni is the right long-term home for Explo. We're excited to join them and provide our customers more power and flexibility, with the same focus on speed and support.'
