Numerator Unveils AI Guidance and Automation Tools

November 25 2025

Consumer understanding firm Numerator has announced the introduction of a number of AI-based features focused on making data exploration more intuitive, through guided, connected and automated workflows.

Brian RedmondNumerator was formed in 2018, bought by Kantar three years later, launched in Europe in March this year, and merged with Worldpanel in the summer. The company blends first-party data from over 1 million US households with advanced technology to provide '360-degree consumer understanding', and is currently separating from Kantar's Consulting business. Earlier this month it launched its own consumer-centric measure of inflation, making use of its verified, item-level retail purchase data.

The new features build on earlier AI launches, including earlier this year across the firm's Verified Voices research platform. They include Narratives, a suite of guides bringing together data across reports, promising to answer complex business questions and surface the most relevant insights; What's Next, which recommends complementary reports to help users expand their analysis and connect findings across categories or audiences; LLM Report Summaries; and (from next year) Fully Automated Attribution, geared to improving accuracy and 'accelerating the path from purchase to publication.'

CPO Brian Redmond (pictured) comments: 'For more than a decade, Numerator has been redefining how consumer behavior is captured and understood - from pioneering digital receipt capture to deploying large language models that transform how researchers interact with data. With these new capabilities, we're enabling AI to perform analysis on behalf of our users - expanding beyond automation to guide discovery, connect insights, and accelerate decision-making.'

The company says its AI and automation upgrades will continue next year with the expansion of its Narratives capabilities, the introduction of AI-powered conversational tools for direct data querying, and the use of AI-assisted moderation in qualitative research.
